CrickleUkers
Crickleukers is friendly, welcoming monthly ukulele jam session at the library. On the first Friday of every month, 1900-2100, we meet in the library to strum and sing together.
CrickleUkers is free, but a small donation, to help cover our running costs, is much appreciated.
Joining CrickleUkers
We meet on the first Friday of every month, from 1900-2100. Beginners normally join Brendan in the back room for the first hour, to brush up on or learn chords, and then join the experienced players in the front for a strum and sing along later.
Those without a booking can be admitted subject to capacity on the night., but to be sure of a place, please register.
No Ukulele?
No problem! Don’t let it stop you coming along. We have 8 soprano ukes and two tenors (for bigger fingers) that you can borrow while you’re there, plus a few tuners to help keep you in line. If you want to be sure of a uke, come early. First come, first served!
Refreshments
We may eventually be able to run a donation bar, but until we can, feel free to bring along a drink or nibbles to share.
What do we play?
We’ve been using the Ukulele Wednesdays Songbook and it’s working great. We don’t print out music (what a waste of paper that would be!) so, unless you get there early and secure a spot right in front of the TV screen, make sure you bring a tablet or mobile to read your tabs.
Cost
It’s free to attend, but of course we have running costs to cover and there’s an opportunity to make a small contribution if you like when you book your place. But don’t worry – this is not an expectation, and shouldn’t stop you coming along.
Age Appropriate?
Most attendees are adults, but some kids come along with parents. Suitable for 8 and up, probably. Absolutely no unattended under-16s though, thanks!
Age Appropriate?
We have a Whatsapp Group to keep you informed of any last minute changes to dates/times etc. Please ask any of the organisers at the strum to add you to this group.

CrickleUkers Time Change
Due to popular demand, we're extending the timing of the monthly Ukulele jam, CrickleUkers, by 30 minutes. From Friday 5 July, the sessions will start at 1900, rather than 1930. This will hopefully give all the beginners enough time to get a few chords under their...
